Stepping outside of my signature organic curves, "Reef Prism" is a bold, highly structured exploration of geometry and intersecting planes. And don't let the name fool you—this piece isn't an ocean scene or a literal prism! The title is simply a vibrant identifier for an artwork that speaks entirely through the energy of its colors and the precision of its form. Packed with straight lines, rectangles, squares, and right angles, this piece delivers a completely different flavor of visual dopamine, perfect for modern, structured spaces that still crave an intense pop of color.
The Palette & Materials
Created entirely by hand in my Cleveland, Ohio studio, this original artwork is built on a striking, highly reflective base of magenta foil cardstock. Layered precisely over this vibrant background are crisp, geometric acrylic forms painted in cool blue, bright green, and energetic orange. The interplay between the flat, matte texture of the acrylic shapes and the shifting, metallic glow of the magenta foil creates a dynamic visual tension that changes from every angle in the room.
Framing & Dimensions
- One-of-a-Kind Original: This listing is for the single, original physical artwork.
- Dimensions: 8" x 10" standard size matted to 5" x 7".
- Frame Details: Housed in a frame designed to protect the delicate foil layers while allowing the metallic elements to catch the light from all angles.
Studio Note: Every artwork from Design by Nissa is 100% human-made using traditional analog methods. Because this is a hand-painted geometric process, slight organic variations in the line weights are intentional, ensuring your piece is a truly unique original rather than a digital print. Created in a workspace proudly shared with a senior cat who only loves his human!
Artwork Care & Shipping Info
Artwork Care Instructions To keep your "Reef Prism" piece shining brightly:
- Dusting: Lightly clean the frame and glass/acrylic covering with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
- Placement: Keep the artwork out of prolonged, direct UV sunlight to preserve the vibrant magenta foil and the rich saturation of the acrylic paints. We recommend hanging or shelving it in a climate-controlled indoor space.
